McDonald Collage

Thank you all for putting This is the Day That the Lord has Made on the PP! I am honored. But that was totally being in the right place at the right time. And, for me, one of those gentle hugs.

As many times as I have taken my camera to Spring Grove, I missed this every time. The funny thing is that it is close to the swan. Anyway, I was there late in the day on Sunday playing with lenses and turned around as the sun going lower in the sky lit up the McDonald mausoleum. The stained glass was on fire! I tried to show you the padlocked gates with the open doors behind them. The floor is a gorgeous mosaic with the hour glass of sand running out......What a beautiful building. So much money to store bodies when the soul is gone.
It is 93 degrees at almost 6pm in Cincinnati today. I haven't been out!
How gorgeous. Love the details!!

Nice collage to show the different elements to the mausoleum. The stained glass and chained door are the ones I like the most.

I always chuckle when I read about lead-lined coffins and other "eternal" resting places. What are you preserving and for whom?
