Can You See the Heart

This is one of a series of shots that I took of the hands that I have loved for the last 32+ years. I was doing a project elsewhere and I will be forever grateful for the series of shots that I got of my husband's hands. This is nothing like the one I used, I'll share that later. But as I worked with these I found this heart in a shuffle.

He used to do all kinds of tricks. I remember that the day I first met him he was pulling quarters from my then 5 year olds ears. I have always loved magic tricks, feats of legerdemain. Even the words sounds magical. When that 5 year old was nine I married the "Magic Man" of Heart's songbook.

He raised my two sons as his own as he worked hard with these hands. He doesn't do as many tricks now. He has an extensive library and will sit as times and do fancy stuff just to "keep his hands in." It was a lot of fun to set this up and I took a million shots as we laughed and reminisced about the old days.
Beautiful!!

Wonderful shot, wonderful story. My first (late) husband used to pull quarters out of kids' ears and noses. Once he was called away on urgent business in the midst of the trick. He got a desperate call from the child's mother the next day, because the poor child was sure that quarter was in her nose and was about to hurt herself trying to pull it out by herself! So he made an emergency trip back over there to finish the trick and set things right.
