I'm back - don't know what day it is but we are safely home. We had the trip of a lifetime. The Grand Canyon really is - but for my money Bryce and Zion are more beautiful. I am so very proud of myself right now. At 63, three ruptured disks and two stress fractures of my hip and I hiked every day. We had really good hiking boots (yes, you need them) and titanium hiking poles that are more than helpful. We didn't try to go down into the Grand Canyon as that is days worth of climbing. But we hiked 3/4 of the way down into Bryce. The climbing out was a little dicey - but I did it. We climbed quite a bit at Zion. I will be showing you shots of this trip for a while, I think. The only thing I really didn't love was Vegas. We were there for the last day to catch the plane the next morning. It is an assault on your senses - not in a good way.
I've never been so I am looking forward to more shots like this!! It has great composition and looks like something from the 1800's. Well done on the photography an the hiking!!
Wow, sounds like a fun and adventurous vacation! Looking forward to seeing your pics! Love this beautiful shot...definitely something you don't see everyday!!! Fav for sure!!!
What a lovely view....a classic image with the horses and riders. It is so lovely there. Next time you are in Vegas...skip the strip etc...head out to Red Rock Canyon just a few miles west of the city. It is lovely and lots of hiking and bike riding. Amazing that such a wonder is so close to the city. About 50 miles north is Valley Of Fire... which is I like even better then Red Rock. So many other things to do in the area if you have the time. That whole area is full of ecological wonders...especially southern Utah!
@eyesmile Wow. Wish we had known that ahead of time. But we had never seen Vegas and for some reason thought we would like it - nope, It was sort of a stop over to get the plane the next morning. I'd love to go back for the rest of it. Fantastic trip and nothing like Ohio
excellent job of this! We didn't ride when we were there...just took a ton of hikes. it is so hard to portray the beauty that surrounds you there...but you came so close!!!
