Fountains at the Bellagio by cdonohoue

Fountains at the Bellagio

Las Vegas doesn't do anything for me. We thought we would take a look the last day of our trip. We stayed the night at New York, New York. You have to register at the casino and it is a bit smokey with pounding beat techno music......not my cup of tea. It is truly in the desert and it was 96 degrees. I don't care if it is "dry" heat, it was hot. Then you are accosted on the street by folks handing out cards about supplying a man/woman or whatever in 20 minutes or less! First time on the trip that I felt old. So, we did go in the Bellagio. They have a gorgeous conservatory and had a fellow playing jazz guitar. We thought of eating there - and then we saw the menu. I will say that the fountains are gorgeous at night.

Perfect capture of the amazing water show! I saw it years ago before 365 and wish I had such good shots of it!

Sounds a very interesting experience Cathy.........the casino part would terrify me for a start....nice to go once & see but then I would scuttle back home! Wonderful waterfalls though!

I'm with you - don;t like Vegas at all. Especially when coming from the majesty of nature that surrounds sin city. Nice capture.

So I've been looking at your art america sight. How hard was that to set up and what did it cost you. Have you been having any success? What about the Bubble thing?

Beautiful shot. I couldn't agree more about Las Vegas. We used to go just about every year because of business. And love your comment about the heat--dry heat is still hot; and dry cold is STILL COLD!!!!

Wonderful shot!

Your capture of the building behind the fountains is very good! I recognise the scene but never been there! Now I don't think I want to go! Last time I was there was 1966 - very different!

ha ha - I stayed at New York New York too and had exactly the same opinions of the place, but Belagio was lovely. Beautiful capture Cathy.

Gorgeous shot! LV doesn't do anything for me, either.

@sailingmusic Myrna none of the sights are very good. I've sold some notecards on Fine Art America. I sell quite a bit on Zazzle if you don't mind that it is ornaments, luggage tags, anything you can think of. No up front cost there.

Wonderful processing

I totally agree with Deb's comment - your patterns do may the fountain look line a line of pineapples. Enjoyed your commentary - never been there, but I think that would be my reaction also. Great shot.

The smoke in vegas is the worst. I hate that part. The slimy men who try to prostitute women with their cards are equally disgusting!! What's even worse is that there must be a market for it. Your photo is beautiful! I like the tones and patterns.

@kwind What occurred to me over and over was that if that was what they were selling out in the open what is the underbelly? The money that goes through this town in one day could help children eat for a year. It is pretty disgusting. I didn't feel old until we hit Vegas.

Great patterns and tones here.

I have a feeling I'd feel just like you felt. I'd gone to Atlantic City once as part of an Avon awards ceremony and although I found the architecture and colors fascinating, looking at all the people stuck at the slot machines was incredibly depressing. I didn't even go into the main casino. Not my cup of tea- so I went outside and walked the boardwalk. Nice fountain shot though.
