I spent some time this morning out in my garden laying on a beach towel. Sixty years ago I'd have been trying to get some "sun" (which has only led to my having a great relationship with my dermatologist who carves out the bad spots). Today I'm finding there is an entire world that lives on a different plane than we do. This is the mystery plant that I got off of Lowe's discount shelf that had no tag or bloom at the time. I'm so glad that I bought it to plug a hole in my landscape.
Of course it makes me think of all of the differing levels of the world around me, sharing the same bit of ground. There are trees that are much larger, bushes for ground cover, plants that I have planted and those that have been here since Mom and Dad bought the house in 1951. If you look closely you can see the fly on top of the bloom. The next time that I think that the world has turned on it's head, maybe I need to remember that there are so many different levels of life that share common ground with me.
Terrific detail to your photo. A much interesting thought process that I have often followed too. Sometimes I ponder if they feel their universe the way I do. It's really amazing we all share the same space and most of the time I totally unaware of the rest of the inhabitants.
