This weekend Long Beach celebrated with a Pirate Festival along its Belmont Shore pier. While waiting to hear one of the "pirate bands" play, my friend Tracy and I met Harold the Parrot. As you can see on the right side of the photograph, there appears to be a few wisps of Tracy's golden locks as Harold happily sits upon her shoulder. Harold is very friendly, unless you try to get him off of your shoulder. I was lucky to have met him and allow him to spend some time upon my arm as well - hopefully we will bump into him at another event soon.
Thank you - it's hard to snap a photo of a bird that keeps looking around and won't quite sit still. Would love to meet him again and take another shot at him; hopefully in full sun next time.
