All quite again today. by chimfa

All quite again today.

But minus our beautiful Washingtonias. We are sad to see them go but they were too close to the pool. When we moved in 19 years ago they didn't even come half way up the wall. The " before" picture was posted a few days ago. Now all I have to do is find plants to cover the tops of the stumps. We've had the trunks cut at different heights so hopefully when we've finished it won't look too bad!
Have watched your postings with great interest. Amazing !
We have had many happy holidays in Moraira and Calpe, hence the interest. Lucky you, living there, with all that lovely sunshine.

@onewing it's a pity they've had to go but we were concerned about the pool.

@boatman137 Hello! Yes it is a lovely place to live. A good place to have as a base and travel from too.

I have just been looking through - an interesting account of the felling of the trees. It does look very different but these things have to be done and I am sure your plan to make a feature out of the stumps will work well. The neighbour will get used to it too.

The area looks somewhat bare without those trees. Are you sure they won't start to regrow again?

Still looks great Jane, those stumps could be a real feature...you have to do what you have to do!!

@sangwann we have had two others taken away . One a few years ago and another earlier this year. Both singles but absolutely huge. We've had no problems with either of those but will will pour some sulphamante into this one to hopefully kill off the roots.
