There is always a big debate around these parts as the whether the mangroves are a pest or are native. Do they clog up the estuary's and river mouths or was it always this way. I think the truth is somewhere in between. The nutrients from farms etc. have caused mangroves to expand more than what they would have naturally and should be managed accordingly.
