While I was home I noticed this old axe and I had to take a picture. It brought back a lot of memories. I grew up in a home that was warmed with wood heat. I'm sure I was a little jealous of my friends who had electric or gas heat but there's one thing for sure....I never remember being cold. Mama and Daddy always made sure that our home was warm. Mama still keeps a fire going in the woodstove to this day. It's always warm and so welcome when you come in the door.....an invitation to come and sit awhile. Good memories.
Wonderful shot and memories to go with it. I have always wanted a fireplace. When I was growing up this house was heated with a coal furnace and I remember my Dad shoveling coal.
I like the wood ax handle and stump ... Very rustic.
