I come from a rural area in Virginia. Now I live in Kentucky and it's an 8 hour drive from here so I don't get to go home very often. But, every time I go there it reminds me of how much I miss it.
My Mama is 79 and still lives in the same house, although it's really starting to show its age. She loves the old place and especially loves the land around it. When I was there I noticed all of the little touches of things that she had placed here and there. Some might think they're comical, or perhaps strange, but to me they're unique and, well, just Mama. She was into recycling a long time before it became popular as can be seen in these old boots that she turned into a planter.
It makes me realize that she puts a little bit of love into everything she does around that old place. And it shows.
How special to cherish the simple things in life and see beauty in almost anything... looks like your Mama has perfected recycling! Glad you have been able to 'go home'... it blooms with love!
