Tiny Dancer by cjoye

Tiny Dancer

I originally cropped way in on this photo to get rid of all the extra "stuff" that is our life. My Lightroom skills (I have zero photoshop skills) are not good enough to get rid of things, so I'm usually limited to cropping. But then I pulled back again and realized that I actually liked the contrast between her and the rest of the room. In her mind, she was on a stage somewhere instead of the middle of our house. And now that's what I see when I look at this photo.
Love the coloring and capture. Your daughter and mine are the same forever dancing (and falling), she is 19 yrs. now and still dancing and falling. Beautiful memories.

Gorgeous shot! I love the way blur on her skirt shows the movement!

If you wanted to get into Photoshop, check out Damiensymonds.net he used to run a Photoshop help page on facebook, but recently moved it all to his own forum like site.. I've learned so much through him!

Beautiful! It very much tells the story of a girl in her own world!

@gracefullyetched Thank you! As much as I love photography, knowing I am capturing these moments is by far the biggest draw for me. And it's cool when other parents can relate to wanting to savor these moments.

@elishajae Thanks so much for the tip! Last year, I made it my goal to learn Lightroom (I still have so much to learn, but at least I know my way around). I think Photoshop is next...
