Landed back home about two hours ago and, after showering (oh my goodness that felt good) and madly hugging my family, I uploaded the 430 photos I took this past week. This one felt magical from the moment I snapped it. He said his name was Pastor Deliverance, the leader of the church in the remote mountain village in Haiti where we provided medical evaluations and care to 100 children and adults. I spent some time with the women gathered outside our makeshift clinic and, after struggling to break through the language barrier, finally connected through the topics of family, children, beauty and my camera. Joining our circle was Pastor Deliverance, who asked me to take his picture. It may take a Herculean effort, but I am determined to figure out a way to get him a copy of this regal portrait.
I think it's great he asked you to take his picture and it's such a wonderful shot, full of character. I bet he has plenty of stories to share! Sounds like you do some wonderful work too :)
@overalvandaan You just made my day, Saxa! I'm still working through all the photos I took on this trip...thank you so much for taking the time to look through the ones I've posted so far.
