She Laughed When I Told Her She Was Beautiful (Haiti Series)
This young woman--she said she was 17, I think--refused to let me take her picture, at first. She didn't think she was "bel" (beautiful in Kreyol) and laughed at me when I said she was. I think this photo might have convinced her.
@amyk Thanks, Amy! It's interesting trying to photograph in that type of setting, where you really can't control anything and there are dozens of people around. I was also trying to photograph without being too intrusive or gawking.
