This talented carver was gracious enough to let me photograph him at work. I'm always fascinated by artists and artisans, especially those whose craft has been passed down from generation to generation (as was the case here). These turtles, hand carved from koa wood, will join the larger and more elaborate creations that line the shelves of the store that sits behind his workshop.
