Zimbelism

I watched another fascinating documentary the other day, this one on George Zimmer, famous for his street photography. At age 88, he still shoots exclusively in film and he talked about how he dislikes the detail of digital photography, particularly for portraits. As much as I love more impressionistic images, I rarely share them. I decided this one would be an exception. I like the dark sky, the silhouettes, the movement in her dress. In this case, I think it tells a better story than a highly detailed, tack-sharp photo might tell...
This is beautifully atmospheric. I love it!

@amyk Thank you! I was initially going to delete it because it wasn't sharp, but decided I liked the look of it...

@kali66 I need to take out my dad's ancient 16mm lens again...old glass definitely creates a whole different look.

@joysabin Thank you! I watched this one on Amazon Prime. It's amazing how many documentaries are now available on photographers. Did you ever watch the one on Dorothea Lange?
