It was a stormy night here! We had straight-line winds come through around 12:30. Thankfully all my family members are safe!
I made a collage with some pics I had taken this month and today.
Top Left Two beautiful trees in my field taken on May 10, 2011
Top Middle One beautiful tree still standing
Top Left This shows how close the tree fell to the road
Bottom Left A maple tree in my yard taken May 24, 2011
Bottom Middle My maple tree missing the top branches
Bottom Right The top branches where they fell. You can line them up with the missing tree in the field
The worst damage we had was to our roof. There is a large patch of missing shingles. The shingles are hanging in my dogwood tree and scattered in the hayfield.
My mother and stepdad live about a mile from me. They had a 50 year old locust tree completed uprooted. Thankfully, there was no damage to their house!
The roof can be fixed and the branches cleaned up. I am just thankful that everyone is safe!!! All my cats, kittens, and dogs are accounted for too!
I experienced a category 2 cyclone in Darwin in February. The wind can be such a fierce and scary element of nature. I'm glad you survived without personal injuries. We have been watching the tornado damage with horror as well. Thinking of you all.
