I had to post a shot of this little Downy Woodpecker. I was shooting butterflies and he flew onto the tree right behind me with a loud flapping noise. When I turned around, I was expecting a bigger bird. He was too close for my zoom. I had to back up.
@otterz@aglennc The EXIF says f/8 at 280mm and the description says "too close for my zoom, I had to back up" so I'd say that the DOF is very shallow due to being very close to the subject with a long lens and the background is therefore deeply out of focus.
@aglennc Thank you very much, Anita. There wasn't anything in the background, except sky. The greenish hues are from sunlight coming through the leaves on the tree.
