The berries are from a wild plant we have called poke. The leaves are edible, but the berries are not. The insect is a mantid, also known as a praying mantis.

WOW! I almost ripped out my mother's pokeberry plants, but we ran out of time yesterday. I guess I should leave them for the critters! Great shot.
