Robin

photo 42
We had snow showers and freezing temps today. I went outside for pics, but I had to come back in when I couldn't feel my feet anymore!

The snowflakes were small and didn't last very long. They're hard to see, but there are flakes in the grass where this American Robin is standing.

American Robins are ground feeders. Their favorite foods are earthworms and fruit. They're usually in groups, but this little female was by herself today.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and faves on my cardinals!!! :0)

I have a page on facebook for my pics. If you would like to visit, it's My Little World Photography.

Great photo of the little beauty! I'll be so happy when Spring arrives and they come back here. Frigid here . . had to run back and forth to warm up in the car today while out shooting pics. This isn't fun anymore.

My yard was full of birds today. I took a picture of one I didn't recognize. I'll have too look back thru your bird pics and see if I see it, if not I'll post it later and you can tell me what it is. Nice shot of the robin.

I saw this on My Little World first. It is gorgeous! Poor Robin...he must be frozen. I shot photos today until i had frost bite and I had on Purple Parka, hat, cashmere sweater, shirt under that, wool socks, and a glove on my left hand... brrr!

@5unflow3r Thank you! Last week, when it was warm, I saw some worms. There are still lots of berries for them to eat. :0)

Our climates are so different at the moment. You are break into a sweat if you step out side. At least the birds are still out and about. Nice shot.

Great little Robin, but I think worms are out of the question for her today

@cjwhite Oh good...and yeah, you're right, we had some worms come out to avoid drowning a week or so ago...poor worms, must live in dirt, must get out when it rains, and they're blind and don't know that they are headed right towards a big puddle. Sheesh

Great capture. I love robins - they are so sweet. A robin comes regularly to my garden to feed. We throw bread crumbs on the pavings to watch him eating them.

It's interesting how birds of the same name vary so much in different countries.
I saw one a UK (European?) robins yesterday who looked like a little tennis ball he was so round! He hid under a bush before I could get a picture of him though :(
