Blue jays are beautiful birds, but very loud. They are known as the alarm of the forest, screaming at any intruders in the woods. They have scattered my birds numerous times, while I've been trying to get pics.

The patterns of blue on his wings and tail remind me of stained glass. Gorgeous bird. You made me chuckle with "alarm of the forest!" Nothing like a big-mouthed bird to warn everything away. :)
I wonder if he's a young'un, because his head is rounded (some of the blue jays I've seen on the 365 Project have a head more like a cardinal). He's beautiful! Look at all those blues! I miss the jays around here, even though they are a bit noisy at times.
Terrific! I almost never see them now and hard to capture when I do...but I got a shot today of one leaning down and that tail! Those feathers remind me of butterfly wing patterns/colors. Gorgeous!
