After looking at many pics of Broad-winged Katydids online, I think she was getting ready to lay eggs. Katydids lay seedlike eggs in single rows on leaves. I've seen some of them, but I didn't know what they were until I was researching today. Adult Katydids don't survive winter, but their eggs do. If you enlarge the pic, you can see the bubble like sacs. If I've gotten this completely wrong, please let me know. :0)
Thank you for visiting my project and for your kind comments! :0)
Amen to Terry's remark!! Think you've outdone yourself on this one. LOVE the detail. Fav for sure. And I sure appreciate the information of this katydid.
Awesome capture and great spotting of those eggs! We were travelling thru N Dakota and I woke up to a Katydid on my knee. Couldn't get my lens changed in time to capture it unfortunately.
