Waiting and watching

I'm waiting and watching for the more colorful butterflies. I've seen a couple of swallowtails, but they were flying as fast as their wings could take them. More wildflowers need to bloom.

Lovely shot! The eye is beautiful. Is this a female orange tip? None of these about yet up here in the north west of England. Soon I hope!

They're starting - so far I've "seen" (by looking quite quickly_ 2 "real" butterflies - probably 3 states away before they landed. We too have a few of the cabbage whites and clouded sulphurs showing, but that's it. This is a nice clear shot of him.

I, too, have spotted many different types, but none wants to settle down right now. what's up with that?
