Close encounter

This big girl is hiding from me, which I can find amusing now. I accidently stepped on her web. It was close to the ground and I didn't see it until it was too late! She scurried up a strand of web and hid among the leaves. I'm fairly sure it scared me more than her! It took awhile for my breathing and heart rate to get back to normal. :0)

@falcon11 She was huge! I'll probably dream about her tonight. The past couple pf years, I might see three or four of these spiders. They are all over this year. I think I'm ready for them to hibernate. :0)

Oh, how cute! I love these spiders! I always think of them as girls. I wonder why? I think this is what lays that weird "pouch/eyeball" spider egg sac from my pic.
