I had never seen a Dark-Eyed Junco in person, until two week ago. It has taken me this long to get a decent pic. I have never seen one at my home, but my friend who lives one county over has them. Her home is surrounded by woods, so I've been getting to shoot some new birds.
I had a bit of a meltdown today. Ever so often, I get an error message with my zoom lens. It's a connection problem and usually easily fixed. When I am outside, I remove the lens and put it back on. Today that didn't work! I cleaned the connections with my lens cloth and it still wasn't working. Needless to say, I was distraught. I cleaned the connections again, but used my lens cloth and cleaner. Eureka!!! It's working fine now. I was afraid I had worn the poor thing out. :0)
Thank you so much for your views, comments, and faves! :0)
Wonderful photo. We call these winter birds. They show up in late fall and stay all winter here in CT. I usually have a flock of about a dozen at the feeder.
@falcon11 They have the sweetest little voices. The ones at my friend's house eat seeds that have fallen from the feeder, but I haven't seen them on the feeder. They pick through the leaves in the woods and happily chirp as they search for food. I wish they would visit my house or woods! :0)
