This morning, I saw a Great Spangled Fritillary in my friend's yard. I've only seen one once before. I grabbed my camera and my memory card and went outside. I followed the butterfly and mentally pleaded with my camera to hurry up and read my card.
The big, beautiful butterfly landed and I raised my camera for the shot. There was nothing but darkness in my viewfinder. In my hurry to get the shot, I forgot to do something really important. I didn't remove the blankety blank lens cap. I took it off, as I watched my chance for a shot fly merrily away.
You win some and you lose some when taking nature pics. This Silver-spotted Skipper was kind enough to stay put long enough for me to get my pic for the day. :0)
