Holy Cow! That's a scary wasp!

My title is the G rated version of what I actually said when I saw this scary insect! I found it in my insect book. It's an American Pelecinid Wasp.

I think the insect to the right of the wasp is an Asian Tiger Mosquito. I wonder if it's the one that bit me this morning?
