Blue on Blue

The Life Star helicopter lands behind my back yard fence. Today it was a blue one against a brilliant blue sky.
Tremendous focus and speed you have got - stopped the rotor blades! Why does it land behind you?

@maggiemae We live directly behind our town's hospital, and the helicopter pad is only a few feet from our back fence. I've seen them come and go many, many times, but I am still fascinated.

@maggiemae Yes, a few years ago they rattled our windows, but we got new double-pane windows and doors and we hardly notice now. Also, I think they have quietened the copters, because even outside, it's not too bad.

Wow. Cool capture, and makes something rather beautiful of this machine

wow, excellent shot, great clarity

We had the exact similar location for 25 years - the hedges of our driveway were all that separated us from the landing pad. And yes, the roof would shake some times - when they blew a few shingles off, we had to talk with them about coming in for the landing from a different angle - which they did from then on. Really nice shot against the blue sky.

Nice shot. I suppose you get used to it

Fantastic detail!

Great shot!

Great shot and awesome color. Would love to see slightly lower shutter speed to add just a little motion blur to the rotor. Not sure I would say you are lucky to live that close or not. Fav.

Great shot. The copter looks like a bug!

It appears to be suspended in mid air. Nice shot.

@cdean1956 Oh, thank you for the suggestion! I have something to work on when I take my next shot of a copter. And you are right about whether we're lucky living this close. When we moved into this house 14 years ago, there was a building and lots of trees there, but they tore all that down and built the new hospital and heli-pad. They only come about once a week, so it's not too bad.
