R.I.P. '67

My family and I were almost settled in for the night when we heard a long series of crashing noises from our bedroom windows. My daughter called 911 and I went outside to snap some pictures.

Witnesses stated that the Mustang driver lost control after trying to speed around a truck on a one-way street as he was passing our apartment building. Others told me that the Mustang literally jumped onto the sidewalk, after hitting the parked vehicle, before coming to a stop on our grass. The Mustang driver was quickly handcuffed after failing a DUI test.

The guy on the cell phone is the owner of the vehicle parked directly in front of the police officer. The front of his vehicle was totaled.

The white car parked across the street is my daughter's car. She normally parks in the spot of the totaled vehicle, but her husband, thankfully, parked across the street.

What a night! I'm just glad no one was injured.
there are so many irresponsible drivers - glad no-one was hurt

@annied True, and to combine alcohol with road rage is never a good thing. With the sounds I heard through my window, I was expecting to see at least five cars involved in the crash.

@brillomick Always, and this one kept telling the police that he did nothing wrong. One of the Mustang emblems fell off and my grandson picked it up to remember what happens when you drink and drive.

A good lesson and like a true 365er you had your camera to capture the shot!

@karenamb I was hesitant, at first, because I felt I was invading their privacy, but then I pretended I was a reporter getting the story.
