Burned tree in Uluru. by cocobella

Burned tree in Uluru.

Today walk around Uluru... In fact we have only done half of the mountain....we left the hotel too late (9am) and 5 hours later it was hot like in a oven.
But it was a wonderful walk, we all fell in love with the place.
It looks like you are having a fabulous holiday. And you've experienced both ends of the spectrum in your travels so far! Lovely photo. Happy travelling!

Just quickly looking at your amazing shots of your wonderful holiday. So happy that you're enjoying our country! This is a standout shot for me. How unusual to see the 'edge' of the rock and you've really captured the essence of outback Australia with that stark tree. Instant fav!

@tulipgirl thank you very much Alicia for the fav and your words : this pix resume what we have seen, we have been chocked by the burned lands... So much ! And this is such a catastrophe for the environment and the inhabitants... Very sad !
We have spent 20 wonderful days in Australia, I wish I could come back
It is such a huge country with so much to see and to do, and Australians are really welcoming and friendly....my older daughter wants to come here to the university ;)

You can't kill the Desert Oak. It will come back from anything, it can stop it's growth on the surface and bore down to find water for years. Although it is hard to establish them anywhere other than their native home.
