Corylus avellana contorta

Or if you prefer : tortuous hazel tree !
Ive got a pretty big one in my garden, I'm very lucky because every year it gives me a big basket of enormous hazelnuts, very rare for this variety of hazel tree.
It was the first time I cut it, I hate doing this, but he really needed it, so I kept some branches...can you hear my husband shouting "what do you plan to do with this mess ?"
He has admitted it makes a nice bunch..
Hope he wont stop offering me flowers every week-end !!
Fab curly branches! They really make a great bunch. The light and tones and comp - wonderful!
You've also got a cool chair there ;)

Lovely contrast, well captured. We have a tortured willow tree in the backyard which is a bit similar.
