Found these at the supermarket, I really don't eat that but I loved the vintage look of the cans, so 70's!:
Some explanations http://www.dakatine.com/decouvrez-dakatine-2/historique/
Dakatine is a French brand of non salted peanuts butter, made in Strasbourg, since 1960, the name is the contraction of "Dakar" and "tartine" (=toast).
@panthora@dianen It's what it says on the tins... at the bottom - and in the tags! Corinne, I think these must have neen left over from WW2 - good spot!
@panthora Me neither Osia - it just doesn't feel right does it... strange how we become programmed to expect certain things in certain ways. And some comments are tongue-in-cheek too ;-))
@panthora@panthora It's a non salted peanuts butter, and I know this kind of tin since always, in fact it exist since 1960. It is very well known in France and Africa and indian ocean. It's a french brand and it's made in Strasbourg.
I've checked on the website of Dakatine and they said the little boy on the tin was the son of one of the salary man, same tin since always....
@vignouse no Richard It's not "forgotten-tin" in the supermarket ;) I've looked on the website of the brand and it seems that they use the same logo since the 60's, I personally love it ! i dont always understand why we have to change everything so fast and "upgrade" everything...may be a sign i'm getting older ;)
