We were stationed at Laon AFB for three years before de Gaulle kicked the US military out. Lived on the economy at Premontre. There was a little lake down the road from the house we lived in that froze over in the winter - was full of children ice skating. Fond memories.
@marlboromaam ive never been to Laon, but I lived close during 2 years : in Reims, perfect to drink Champagne because champagne vineyards are there but i remember of the cold winters too ! (i come from south of France, by the mediterranean sea....it was a big change for me ;)
@cocobella So you are French and I thought you were Swiss! LOL! It was a big change for you. I wish I could remember all the French I learned when I was very young. I think children learn much faster than adults. But, if you don't use it - you lose it. I lost it when we came back to the states.
