As everybody on the planet ... or almost... we are in confinement.
Today I’ve to “fight” with my daughters who wanted to meet “just one friend” each ( I’m a bad mum) and my husband who wanted to see “just a friend” to smoke a cigar ( I’m a bad wife)...Switzerland where we live has said we are in in an “extraordinary situation” between Germany, France, Italy and Austria that have declared to be in “emergency”. But Switzerland just ask people to stay at home...
News from France are bad, very bad... especially in Mulhouse at only 30 km from where we live, so I’ve decided to apply to our family the same rules that in France : we stay at home, only once a day we allow ourselves to go outside half an hour for a quick walk with the dog in the wood.
My fridge was empty so I decided to go to the supermarket, some goods were missing like the classical toilet paper, not a lot of soap left but I manage to buy enough to be able to stay at home 4/5 days.
Schools of my girls are giving their lessons via internet and my husband is working from home.
So I’m ready to be the mean witch of the family.
Happily I’ve taken a lot of photos from our last trip in Brittany and I will downloading them.
We’re in a similar situation to yours in California. Except people are hoarding food and paper goods so supermarket shelves are pretty empty. We all just have to hang in.
@dustyloup Phonetic seems to be good ! Hard to pronounce for me too ;)
Do you know the french joke : " I've realize Ive bought too much sugar and flour : ten kilos of each... what can I do ? ... One Kouign amann !!"
Oh my goodness, that looks amazing! Just looked it up and found a recipe which could be an interesting quarantine baking project. Haven't made puff pastry in years. You are a bad influence!
Looks delicious, fav....just looking at it I start counting the calories. loved your French joke. my husband and I starting to stay home for 2 weeks....no more shopping for this time....no visitors.
@margonaut happy to keep you busy during the quarantine : 1-morning you cook 2- you eat at lunchtime 3-you have the entire afternoon to do a bit of sport (yoga, squats.... ) every problem its solution ! Stay in and take care my dear !
@bruni true ! The “cake” alone is a “bomb” and at the restaurant they add toffee and a vanilla ice cream ... a lot of calories !
Courage for the quarantine, I’m thinking about people living alone, it must be so hard and worrying ....
