July Words #3 - Sandals

The footwear of a large Hindi statue at an outdoor temple on the beach at Mont Choisy. How would/could anyone walk in something like these? I seem to recall that I’ve seen Buddhist monks with similar footwear on their feet. Really the bare minimum in sandals!
