Juxtaposition of two very dissimilar architectural styles. I have always been fascinated by the early 20th century house with green awnings next to the much older 18th or early 19th century brick house in the historic district of Charleston. Just a very intriguing combination and goes to show how diverse the architecture is in our city which was founded in 1670.

Wow, 1670! I am so glad your city keeps its older buildings. We're lucky here if a building gets to stand longer that 50 years. I really like the juxtaposition too . . . and have always preferred the older buildings. This is a nice shot to show off that sense of time
Love the contrast. My favourite type of old house is like the one with the stoep/balcony/verandah whatever you call it. In this shot the green awnings on the upper windows make it so attractive
I did not realize how old the city is. I love this too, the two styles of architecture. So well photographed, John. Nice that this house gets shade on one side of it certain time of the day.
