Sugar Dusted Strawberry by cookingkaren

Sugar Dusted Strawberry

My first attempt at a still subject with surrounding motion blur. This is the homework for my photography class this week so I'd welcome any critique or ideas on how to improve please! This was created by pouring caster sugar onto a strawberry which had been secured on a skewer. I need a lot more practice!
that's cool!!

I like it , but I think you must have moved the strawberry as the focus is not too sharp on it. Did you hand hold the skewer or did you attach it to something stable?

Really like the image although the white of the stalk is washed out, although I don't know how you would solve this one (neutral density filter??). With the focus of the strawberry - I guess it depends whether you want it sharp or whether you liked the effect you have showing movement. Brilliant effort though.

Love the effect. Maybe using a tripod and shutter release delay will improve it so the strawberry is nice and sharp with no camera shake? Also frees up your hands to pour the sugar! Love the idea though and may have to steal it!

Thank you @hrs @shylaine3304 & @lhart @suesouthwood Thank you. the strawberry was attached but I think the weight of the sugar spun it a little! Thanks @photobird I would've liked it sharper for sure so will have to try again! @jsmjomo it was on a tripod but I need to get a remote shutter release. Really helpful comments everyone, thank you!
