~Saw-Whet Owl~

Spent the day at Sardis... They have 2 new residents. A small and beautiful Peregrine falcon and a very tiny Saw-Whet Owl........
I am so in love with this little owl. he fits in the palm of your hand. He was brought in yesterday by a couple who say they hit it with their car. I got to hand feed both of these guys today. Below a bit of info on this owl.
A tiny owl with a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is practically bursting with attitude. Where mice and other small mammals are concerned this fierce, silent owl is anything but cute. One of the most common owls in forests across northern North America (and across the U.S. in winter), saw-whets are highly nocturnal and seldom seen. Their high-pitched too-too-too call is a common evening sound in evergreen mountain forests from January through May.
how cute! I'd love to see one of these

Absolutely gorgeous. He looks so sweet, but I bet he can be quite fierce. How lucky you are to get to work with these beautiful creatures.

Oh what a beautiful little thing... It makes me sad he was hit, he's probably very scared. It's so great you got to take care of him though, what a nice thing to do...
