shades of nature

we had a windy night and there is bark off the Gum trees everywhere. They are all shedding their bark at the moment which is always a bit messy in the garden
So many great textures!

Always so many textures & patterns in bark.

Lovely shot. Great textures. Looks like a whole branch has been ripped off the tree.

@twinsplusone thankyou Sharon. Thats what caught my eye.

@gigiflower they are all so beautiful when they shed their skins

@dawnee thankyou Dawnee

@suklassen thankyou Susan. They are quite big and you can even see the wrinkles where the branch joined the trunk

@365projectorgjenfurj I can never resist photographing bark

@sangwann it does look like the branch but its just the bark.. You can see where the branch joined the trunk. The smooth fresh bark underneath is wonderful

Pretty tones!

I can see how the yard would get messy quick with a tree shedding pieces this big. Neat textures.

That's very interesting. We just deal with leaves coming down. It's hard to imagine bark all over the yard!

@kwind thankyou for your comment and stopping by Kim

Sounds like our autumn leaf fall. Wonderful texture in this shot thanks to your shedding Gum trees.

Wow! Bark or a whole limb?! A limb fell just shy of our daughter's storage shed...they *look* so tall, thin and slender, but for the most part they're pretty hardy!

I love the beautiful clean "skin" after the bark has fallen

@Weezilou this was just the bark. People have to keep an eye on large limbs that are near the house as they can drop very unexpectedly. They often do this in the hot weather to conserve their energy. Actually, come to think of it my limbs often feel very heavy in hot weather :)

@peggysirk although these trees are evergreen and drop some leaves all year round they have two big drops a year

@thistle @pennystot @pyrrhula @lyndemc @olivetreeann @joemuli
thanks for your interest everyone. The fallen bark is a bit of a nuisance depending on where it falls. Some is very this and in long strips but the trees look all fresh and new after its all off
