@onewing yes, I was amazed at how quick they were too. This old piano was incredibly heavy and we just pushed it a few feet into the kitchen. Our house is split level and the upstairs bedrooms etc. will be a big job as we have so much stuff in them, particularly my craft room :) This will be done after our family have gone home.

thanks everyone for your comments. the carpet layers moved the piano back for us. It was only a few feet and it has now sunk its feet into the new carpet never to move again I hope. Nobody plays on it much and it is 90 years old. It was my mothers and although I had lessons for years I dont play it often. Our children also learned the piano and play much better than I ever did.
Next, the bedrooms and hall on the top part of our split level house will be recarpeted so all the stuff from there has to be moved. what a job
Oh how funny! I'm thinking, "wow, that looks a little crowded"...and then I see why!!! Well, the remodel seems to be coming along nicely! That's very happy news for you!
We have a boudoir piano which is a nightmare to more. But thankfully no carpet. I was interested to ready your comment above. Ours is also from my late mother. Gets very little use. I had lessons for years and even achieved grade 8, but don't play now. Wish I did. God luck with the rest of the house refurb.
