....the title of an evening entertainment at Heligan Gardens. Calvino was an Italian folk tales storyteller (likened to the Brothers Grimm). This was given a modern setting, but with the tales retold as such. it was such fun. Unfortunately the 'light rain showers' forecast turned out to be a proper Cornish monsoon while we were all waiting and getting seated. It poured torrents down for a good half hour, everyone had come prepared for these imaginary light showers....but not for monsoon conditions.....when it had passed the show did go on (huge respect to the performers for doing so in very wet and slippery conditions). The entire audience was soaked and cold, but we all sat there fascinated (and the wine helped of course).
