I took this shot during my last trip to Haiti. This is probably my favorite photo I have ever taken. The younger brother had severe physical ailments and the older brother really tried to take care of him. Haiti is a very difficult place to live with physical problems.
Such a touching scene and capture. Haiti is not a place for the faint hearted to visit as I realized when we were there many years ago. We took the next flight out and went to Turks and Caicos instead.
@ludwigsdiana, my wife has been there on medical missions 13 times. She took me 3 times after I retired from teaching. I had experiences there that you can only have in a place like that. It is very hard to describe when you get to know some of the people.
@thewatersphotos, my wife has been there 13 times over the years on medical missions. On this trip we were with a nun who lives there most of the year who is trying to set up a village structure so the Haitians can better manage the village. She is doing great work. I helped build things for the medical clinic and my wife oversaw some of the pharmacy things at the clinic.
this image just tugs at the heart, i was having goosebumps. it is beautifully captured, bill. i think this is my favourite amongst all the shots you've shown us. ACES!
@summerfield, thank you very much. This is out of my comfort zone in photography. I was able to get several really personal photos on that trip, I just can't find some of them. It will be like Christmas when I find some of my files.
