Today's venue was Canons Ashby House. Upon examining the weather forecast, the better weather was eastwards, so that is the direction we travelled!
Canons Ashby House is an interesting Elizabethan Manor http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-canonsashbyhouse
with an unusual church. From the outside we expected some outrageous vVictorian Monstrosity, but inside it is simple plain and unexpected. The remnant of a much larger priory, even the seats face a direction you don't expect.
The sun appeared at regular intervals. This was a fir tree, with enormous cones.
