Nasty November by daffodill

Nasty November

Today we went exploring and visited Ripple church, renown for its carved misericords - these were carved ledges for choristers to rest their rear ends on during long periods of standing during services. At Ripple, the misericords were carved by local people and reflect the months of the year. November, is pig slaughtering.....apparently the pig is being held by the ear and tail, and presumably will be greatly appreciated at the end the following month...
and the non holder will beat it to death with that plank of wood?
good pic :)
