Met up with a friend I haven't seen since last summer, she had one of her beautiful dogs with her so the morning began with a walk in the drizzle - dogs are an excellent excuse for walks in the drizzle!
We met in Ross on Wye, as it was half way for both of us.
There are loads of places to eat in Ross, but most of them are small, and rely on a fast turnover of clientele, so we opted for The Royal Hotel, with it's stunning views of the A40, and the River Wye, on the grounds that once we had eaten we could keep buying coffee for as long as we wanted.
The food was very reasonably priced, aimed at the senior market, I think we were the youngest visitors by a good 20 years!
It was great to sit and chat, and catch up, and hopefully the weather will be good enough for us to eat outside next time!
