Going For A Song by daffodill

Going For A Song

A merry tune we play
with harmonies caressing the air.
On wind and string
we give you thanks
for life
and all its joy!
The beauty of the autumn days
the howling wind
the gentle rays
for leaves tumbling down,
that have seen better days
yet look more glorious now than ever before.
So dig out your gloves
and your scarf.
Go kick leaves
and have a larf!

I have been swopping the furniture around in the lounge,
ready for winter.
Our beloved leaded window probably requires additional draught-proofing.
Meanwhile I have moved the comfy chairs around,
and now I can lounge on the sofa in the sun - snooze-tastic.
In moving the furniture round I had to lremove every item from the china cabinets. Most things have little value, just memories.
I had completely forgotten this trio. We bought them because the sax player bears more than a passing resemblance to my husband, who may even have had a sax on loan at the time.
They look as though they are kneeling down!
