Bouquet

A bouquet of fireworks I present to you,
as we bid farewell to the old year
and welcome the new.

Explosions and sparks as personalities collide
If you wanted peace and quiet
I was not your bride!

There's more to life than you will find in a book,
it's uncertain, unpredictable
and can be a shock.

You like to be early, to arrive well before time
That bores me, I'd rather hurtle in
just before time.

An itinerary to follow, to know what's ahead.
I prefer spontaneity,
predictability I dread!

So celebrate our differences
don't expect us to be the same.
in 2013 and the days that remain.

Having not managed any decent fireworks pics for a while I decided that I had to get my instruction book out and switched to aperture priority mode, then had a change of plan and switched to 'B' mode.
I then borrowed my husbands tripod and wandered up and down the street, trying to work out which direction the fireworks would happen.
Trying to use a strange tripod in the dark is not easy, At one point I was trying to take photos over 6ft fences, so I gave up and just lifted the whole lot up, used the eyepiece to ensure I was aiming in the right direction and guessed.
