He rules our garden.
Tolerating our presence,
yet devouring the food we provide.
he's taken residence behind next doors garage
where the Pyracantha
will protect him from danger
his spouse hides there too
They think we don;t know
as they fly off up beyond the apple tree
if they know we are around
going to ground
not wanting their hiding place to be found.
But if we hang around
they get brave
and come for food
but to be honest he would prefer it if we stayed inside
and let the blackbird be king.
