My turn to lead Informal Worship at reader training this evening, but but my voice had disappeared, so I had to delegate others to lead what I had prepared.
The lectionary (set readings) have covered quite a bit of Job recently, and we are currently working through a module on the Old Testament. In real life have been reminded that being a Christian does not mean that we will live long, trouble free lives, but we do have the reassurance that God is there with us, in the dark times. When I was browsing through resources, I kept returning to this meditation by Nick Fawcett based on Job 23:2-17, which gave the base for the responses and prayers which began our evening.
I didn't get chance to take a photo at the time, but this cross, candles and candle plate provided the focal point.
