Sat on the beach at Sidmouth, enjoying the end of school holidays sunshine, when suddenly there was a noise like an explosion, as part of the cliffs collapsed! Having witnessed this collapse I will think twice about venturing near any cliffs!
Later I saw people sat under the cliffs at the other end of town - maybe they didn't hear the rock fall.
A young woman was killed by a rock fall further up the coast last year.
