Ennerdale

As we were staying on the west side of the Lake District, a visit to Ennerdale, the western most lake was essential.
Interesting skies, cloud & sun. We walked alongside the lake to the end, and took the waterfall route back, which was well worth the brief climb.
Lunch in the community owned pub, the Fox and Hounds at Ennerdale Bridge - great food! We then visited the church.

We detoured back through Cleator Moor to see another church, but alas it has been sold :(
We headed into Whitehaven, in time to see a boat being lifted out of the water in some sort of transporter cradle. We liked Whitehaven, lots of interesting things to see around the docks, but alas no public loos (Tesco to the rescue)
As the sun set we headed back via St Bees, where we had one last walk on the beach.
A nice graphic image with trees in silhouette. I find it a little unsettling for some reason. I think it is the grey of the far shoreline extending upwards. I used to visit the Lakes every year but not so much recently. Good to hear details of your visit.
